Virtual Thermal Fluids (VTF), LLC provides reliable, efficient, timely, cost-effective engineering consulting and R&D services that relate to thermal fluid problems, particularly the combustion system of internal combustion engines. VTF believes that each digit has its physical or mathematical meaning, and every physical processes can be described using mathematical equations. Accuracy and efficiency are equally important for VTF.
VTF was found by Dr. Haiwen Ge in February 2018.
Marketing Team:
Dr. Haiwen Ge
Dr. Ge’s expertise includes CFD, multi-phase flow, combustion, heat transfer, particularly modeling, simulation, and optimization of internal combustion engines. He has a lot of experience in developing advanced mathematical models for engine combustion simulation and novel optimization methods for engine development. During his career as a postdoc fellow at the Engine Research Center at University of Wisconsin-Madison, He worked on multiple projects funded by Ford Forschungszentrum Aachen, Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, etc. When he was working for Ford, he developed an integrated ignition model that includes electrical circuitry, arc stretch, flame kernel growth, and flame propagation for SI engines. Because of this model, the spark plug team was merged into the Combustion System R&A group. During his tenure at FCA, he reshaped the whole 3D combustion CFD team by developing standard processes, advanced combustion models and optimization methods. The team is responsible for all 3D combustion CFD analysis of SI engines for FCA’s NAFTA market and some engines for LATAM market. Almost all of the models and methods he developed have become the standard processes at Ford, FCA, and John Deere.
